Marketing, PR and copywriting services based in Gloucestershire and Bristol

Drop me a line to discuss ways I can help you with professional and cost-effective PR and marketing solutions. From small start-up companies to established brands I can tailor a package that suits your business and your budget.

Public Relations (PR)

PR people tend to get a bad rap, sometimes deservedly so. You don’t want someone that’s full of hot air and marketing jargon. You want someone who can come up with creative ideas to get your business or organisation the publicity it deserves.

That can be anything from a simple press release sent out to media, or devising a full PR campaign and strategy – often integrating this with the services below, such as social media, email marketing and blogging. I can also work seamlessly with existing PR teams to support large scale projects.

Writing is writing isn’t it? I suppose you’d expect me to disagree, wouldn’t you? Great marketing copy, whether for a website, brochure, blog, or advert, is an art. As a former journalist and feature writer for magazines, writing is what I love.

My copywriting experience extends to magazines for local authorities, website re-designs, email marketing and blog articles for major marketing agencies, schools and colleges, and local businesses.

Social media

When you mention social media, firms often think: ‘Huh? I can tweet and send out some Facebook posts’. Quite right. But social media for marketing purposes involves a much more structured approach.

Are you reaching your target audience? Are you converting posts to sales or clients? Have you used Facebook or Twitter advertising? Have you got a content and social media plan? If not, get in touch to discuss.

Email Marketing

Email marketing is a simple and cost effective way to reach your current and prospective clients. Some businesses, however, can find it a minefield…

Why? You need to comply with guidelines on business email marketing, you need to avoid spam filters, and even more importantly you need people to read your emails – not just click ‘delete’. Not easy when all is said and done is it? Sometimes it pays to have someone on board who can make this process quick and simple.

Strategic Communications

As a former journalist, who moved into Public Relations, communications is second nature. For a strategic communications project, you need clear thinking, creative ideas and someone who can pull a project together from start to finish, ensuring excellent results.

I have recently completed a full service communications project for a district council, delivering a public service message to over 52,000 households. Find out more in the expertise section.

  • Claire is terrific. I regularly recommend her to potential clients as I know they'll get a no-nonsense and honest approach. She worked with me on some pretty high-profile projects. Good marketing people need to have great instincts and see things from the customers' perspective, and they also need to be able to influence decision makers. Claire has all of these qualities and more. She is personable, focused and fun to work with.

  • Claire's contribution to the work we do at Elephant Creative can't be underestimated. Whether managing blogging, social media and PR for lawyers, or working on education-focused campaigns for the education sector, Claire's expertise is formidable. What sets her apart, however, is her 'can-do' approach. There are plenty of 'experts' in the marketing and PR world but, in my experience, finding one that combines market-leading expertise with being a nice person is very rare.

  • The council was very pleased with the consultancy provided. Claire fully understood the service, its impacts on key stakeholders and the pressures that were placed on ensuring the service was designed and communicated well. Claire’s impact was telling as the council received only positive comments on the level and quality of the council’s communications

  • Claire has completed PR work for me this year, including promoting funky diva sewing school courses, as well as my recent win on Theo Paphitis Small Business Sunday. She is very professional in her approach to putting together press releases and marketing ideas. Claire is very proactive with ideas to promote and market my business, contacting me regularly with up dates on press releases, as well as new ideas for marketing avenues. Overall Claire provides a brilliant service for small businesses to promote their presence in local and national media

  • I have worked with Claire on a number of projects in the past, including this website. What I always take away from a meeting with Claire is a sense of positivity, optimism and excitement for our project. Claire is approachable, creative and demonstrates her vast knowledge of PR and marketing. I look forward to working with Claire again in the future and could not recommend her enough.
